A wish made by self and a promise made to self, should never be broken.

  2. Wish - I want to go for swimming classes
You made that wish coz u wanted to do it.. So if u dont do it, for some reason, you are breaking your wish.
Promise - I will never ever drink (its just an example)
This is a promise you made to yourself and someday if u happen to drink coz of peer pressure or fun factor or anything, you are breaking your promise...

According to me, a wish and promise are things which shud never be broken.

  3. Ok so if i interchange it to wanting to not drink and promising to go for swimming classes, doesnt really change any of the action right? Both shouldnt be broken... both are things you want to do, etc. Or is a promise like a more "serious" wish of sorts?

  4. hmmm its different for different people I guess... i mean.. to not drink, for me is a promise. not a wish. That is something I personally abhor (no offense). So i think it rules down to a promise being something way more serious than a wish.
